SARIKIZ EFSANESİ
“Yüzlerce yıl önce bölgede yaşayan baba ile kızın öyküsünü anlatan “Sarıkız Efsanesi’ne” göre; Sarıkız, fakir babasıyla birlikte Edremit’in Güre köyünde yaşar. Sarıkız ile evlenmek isteyen gençler, “yüz bulamayınca” onun hakkında dedikodular yayıp hakaret etmeye başlarlar. Yöre halkı, bunun üzerine babadan kızını öldürmesini ya da köyden kovmasını ister. Çaresiz olarak kızını Kaz Dağları’nın bir tepesine bırakıp köye dönen baba, birkaç hafta geçince “Gidip bir bakayım, hiç olmazsa belki ölüsünü bulur, ona mezar yaparım” diyerek dağa çıkar. Ancak kızını bıraktığı vahşi ormanda kaz güderken bulur. Burada abdest almak istediği suyun tuzlu olduğunu fark eden baba, çevrede deniz bulunmamasına rağmen “Suya uzanıp denizden doldurduğunu” söyleyen kızının ermiş olduğuna inanır ve onunla birlikte dağlarda yaşamaya başlar. Yıllar sonra ölen babasını, Kaz Dağları’nın en yüksek tepesi olan ve hala “Baba Dağı” olarak anılan tepeye gömen Sarıkız da bir süre sonra ölür. Baba Dağı’nın yakınındaki Sarıkız Tepesi’ne gömülen genç kız adına türbe yapılır”. Konu ile ilgili araştırma yapıldığında herkesin karşısına çıkan, birçok kişi tarafından bilinen hikaye budur ve daha bunun gibi birçok Sarıkız hikayesi vardır. Anadolu topraklarına yayılmış ve her bölgede farklı hikayeleri yazılmış birçok Sarıkız hikayesiyle ülkemizin farklı bölgelerinde farklı il ve ilçelerde karşılaşmak mümkündür. Bu hikayelerin birbirleriyle örtüşen benzer yönleri de bulunmaktadır.
Sarıkız hikayeleri genellikle Türkmen toplulukları arasında yaygındır. Ülkemiz sınırları dışında Türkmenlerin yaşadığı coğrafyalarda da Sarıkız hikayeleri ile karşılaşılır.
Sarıkız hikayelerinde hep yükseğe konumlandırılmış ve bir maneviyat yüklenmiştir. Bununla beraber Sarıkız mezarları, türbeleri yüksek dağlarda ve tepelerde yer almaktadır. Sarıkız’ın yükseğe konumlandırılması ve yüceltilmesiyle birlikte yukarıda yazdığım hikayeleriyle halk arasında erdiği, erenlere karıştığı kulaktan kulağa konuşulur. Bazı inançlarda da ortaya çıkmış, insanlar Sarıkız mezarlarına adaklar adamış, kurbanlar kesmiş ve dilek tutup çaputlar bağlamıştır.
Kaz Dağları’nda, Uludağ’ın eteklerinde, Akdeniz’deki Toroslar’da, İç Anadolu’da birçok kişinin adını duymadığı Çankırı İli, Şabanözü İlçesi, Ödek Köyü’nde hatta ülkemiz sınırlarımız dışında İran’da bile Sarıkız hikayeleri olup; bu hikayeler efsaneleşerek bugünlere ulaşmış ve bugünlerden de insandan insana yayılarak yarınlara ulaşacaktır.
